On the west side of the doorway in the north wall of the bar-room, four paintings of “tavern-life” including graffiti were discovered.
These are now in the Naples Archaeological Museum. Inventory number 111482.

According to Guzzo, (ed.), “a wooden staircase at the side of the kitchen led to the upper floor.
At the moment of the eruption, two people were trying to shelter from the rain of pumice on the upper floor of the building.
These may have been the owners or the managers of the bar and, in their flight, they had taken their most precious valuables”.
